Looking to kickstart your career? Women4IT can get you ready for a digital job

ICDL Ireland is a partner in an innovative and ambitious project to develop the digital competences of young women who are at risk of exclusion from the labour market, by improving their employability.  “Women4IT” is a multi-stakeholder partnership funded by the EEA Grants and the Norway Grants Fund for Youth Employment. We aim to select and train 120 young women in Ireland to do real and available entry-level digital jobs between September 2020 and March 2021.

The programme is open to any women between 18 and 29 years old, who are not currently in employment, education nor training and who is living in Ireland. It is completely free of charge. Training programmes are available for six entry level digital job profiles:

The training will be 160 hours in total over a number of weeks and will follow innovative blended training programmes designed and delivered by professional trainers. Contingencies are being planned to enable training to proceed during the Covid-19 situation, in keeping with public health restrictions. A mentor will support each young woman throughout her training journey and also provide assistance during the job-seeking phase, once the training is completed.

Key to the success of this work will be the involvement of social partners in Dublin where the training will take place. We are now actively recruiting young women to participate in the first training courses starting in September. This is a genuine opportunity for motivated young women to receive targeted training that can only increase their opportunities in the job market. No previous experience in the job profiles are required, just a reasonable level of digital skills e.g. ICDL or similar, and a desire to progress.

If you know of women who would benefit from participating in this project please contact Sarah Piazzolla at sarah.piazzolla@ics.ie / 086 783 4240 or refer them to the contact form on the website: https://www.ics.ie/about/w4it where you’ll also find more information on Women4IT.
